A well-packed carry-on can be enough for a whole short trip and saves fees and waiting at the belt. The key is knowing the limits and organising cleverly.
Remember the liquids limit
In carry-on, liquids go in containers up to 100 ml, inside one transparent bag of about 1 l. Anything larger — into checked baggage or bought after security.
Electronics within reach
Laptop, tablet and power bank must be in your carry-on (not the hold), and at security you often have to take them out. Keep them where you can pull them out without unpacking the whole bag.
Documents and irreplaceable items
Documents, keys, prescription medicines, chargers and valuables always ride in the cabin. If the airline sends your carry-on to the hold at the gate, you must keep these on you.
Comfort on board
A water bottle (empty through security), a layer for the cold cabin, headphones and a snack make a flight more bearable. For long flights, add an eye mask and something to help you sleep.
Pack light and cheap
Sticking to a carry-on is the simplest way to avoid overpaying for baggage. Choose the rest from our holiday packing list. Plan the places to visit in TRAMFI.
Frequently asked questions
Do medicines count toward the liquids limit?
Medicines and baby food are usually exempt from the 100 ml limit, but it is worth having them labelled and declaring them at security.
Can I travel with carry-on only?
For short and medium trips yes — a layering system, packing cubes and washing on the way are enough.
